What is Leverage Point?
The leverage point is the single most important place in a system where a small change can have a big, positive effect on the whole system. When a problem keeps coming back, it means that the easy solutions are not working. A true, lasting solution requires you to find and change the leverage point.
Finding the leverage point is often difficult because it is not usually in the most obvious or easy place. For example, in the “Fixes That Fail” archetype, the leverage point is not to find a new quick fix; it’s to stop the quick fix altogether and apply a real solution. The leverage point is the key to changing the underlying structure of the problem.
